Foster and adoptive parents are a valuable resource for children, their biological families, and the entire community. Foster parenting success comes from vigilant motivation and practical training. Private Child-Placing (PCP) agencies are one of the resources interested parents can participate in to start providing care and services for a child for whom the Cabinet for Health and Family Services (CHFS) has legal responsibility.
OHCPAP uses a collaborative approach to provide training and support services for foster parents working within PCP agencies in Kentucky. We applaud you for your willingness to make a difference in the lives of children and thank you for your interest in becoming a selfless act that forever changes your life and the lives of others.
Kentucky’s Just in Time training is a web-based service program designed to connect foster parents, kinship, or other caregivers with training, peer experts, and other resources. If interested, please reach out to your agency for registering.
Adoption Support for Kentucky (ASK) seeks to strengthen families by reducing caregiver stress and increasing parental competence. ASK utilizes seasoned facilitators and trainers who have lived experiences with fostering and adopting.
